John Textor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Digital Domain Productions
John Textor is the founding principal of DDMG and its chairman and CEO, and chairman of Digital Domain, the parent of Digital Domain Productions. He founded Wyndcrest Holdings, LLC, a Florida-based private holding company focused on technology-related opportunities in entertainment, telecommunications and the Internet, and has served as its (and its predecessor's) president since 1997. He served as the chairman and CEO of BabyUniverse, Inc., until its sale in October of 2007. Earlier, John was employed in various merchant banking and investment banking capacities by Shearson Lehman Hutton and Paine Webber. He was also a founding director of Florida-based diversified financial services company Lydian Trust Company, and was a director of Multicast Media Technologies, Inc., a global provider of Internet-based broadcast media. John was previously chairman of the board of Sims Snowboards, a prominent global brand. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Wesleyan University.
Ed Ulbrich, Chief Creative Officer and President of Commercials, Digital Domain Productions
Ed Ulbrich has been with Digital Domain Productions since the company's inception in 1993, and is the chief architect of its commercials business, including Mothership. Ed executive-produced the Academy award-winning visual effects for Titanic and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button as well as for Zodiac, Adaptation, and Fight Club; music videos for the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, and other artists; and 500+ commercials. Prior to Digital Domain Productions he was a commercial producer at the Leo Burnett company and a digital artist at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. Ed is President of the Board of Directors of AICP Digital. In 2009 he was named one of the 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company. Ed has spoken about creativity at top worldwide conferences including TED, NASA, PICNIC, and others. Ed holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois.
Jody Madden, Senior Vice President, Global Studio Operations, Digital Domain Productions
Jody Madden oversees production, technology and studio operations for all of
Digital Domain Media Group's companies and worldwide studios. She joined
Digital Domain in 2007 as the director of technology operations and served
as head of studio throughout 2008 before being promoted to head of
production. In two years’ time, Jody led teams that supported the opening of
Digital Domain studios in Vancouver, San Francisco and Florida. From 2000 to
2007, Jody held a variety of technology and resource management roles with
Industrial Light and Magic and its parent company LucasFilm, Ltd., working
on both film and video game projects. Jody holds a Bachelor's degree in
English Literature and Communication from Stanford University.
David Lipman, Vice President, Features Visual Effects Production, Digital Domain Productions
David Lipman drives Digital Domain's features visual effects business,
curating and guiding talent and working closely with studios. He joined
the company after having spent the last several years in London
developing live action and animated film projects. David was managing
partner at Framestore, where he founded the feature animation division,
built the studio's animation pipeline and crew, and executive produced
its inaugural project, The Tale of Despereaux. He served as co-head of
production at DreamWorks Animation for many years before moving to
PDI/DreamWorks to become the co-executive producer on the Academy
Award(r)-winning feature Shrek. He wrote and produced the stereoscopic
attraction Shrek 4D for Universal Theme Parks and produced the
blockbuster Shrek 2. Prior to DreamWorks, David served as executive in
charge of production and supervising producer at Hanna Barbera. He was
also vice president and executive producer for USAnimation, producing
many television commercials and digital episodes of The Ren and Stimpy
Show, Beavis & Butthead and The Simpsons. David is a member of the
Directors Guild of America and the Writers Guild.
Joseph Gabriel, Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel, Digital Domain Productions
Joseph Gabriel provides strategic counsel in all areas of Digital Domain's business. Prior to joining the company Joe was in private law practice for more than twenty years. During that time he represented a broad range of media and entertainment clients, including major film studios, independent producers, production companies, distributors, technology companies, actors, writers, management companies and talent agencies. He has been a partner in three leading Los Angeles-based entertainment and intellectual property firms. Joe holds a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University (Chicago) School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dennis D. Morrison, Vice President of Finance, Digital Domain Productions
Dennis D. Morrison oversees financial operations for Digital Domain
Productions. In his 25-year career he has held senior level financial
positions in the public accounting, medical device manufacturing, high-tech
and entertainment sectors. He spent 10 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers
before joining Digital Domain in 2007. Dennis is a member of the California
Society of CPAs, the American Institution of CPAs, the Financial Executive
Networking Group, and former Treasurer/Board of Trustees for the Greater LA
Chapter of the ALS Association. He holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount
University and a BS in Business Administration from California State
University, Dominguez Hills.
