Led by VFX Supervisor Dave Hodgins, Digital Domain crafted a unique cinematic experience for Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania by bringing M.O.D.O.K., a five-foot-tall flying face (played by Corey Stoll), to life.
Using Digital Domain’s proprietary Masquerade 2.0 facial capture system, actor CoreyStoll's performance was transformed into lifelike animation. The character's limited movements were addressed with special adjustments, and intricate details like the eyes were meticulously handcrafted, creating a seamless blend of technology and artistry. Digital Domain also developed a new blood flow pipeline that leverages machine learning and creates a library of data from scanned data of Stoll.
