THE SYNOPSIS

Digital Domain got the party started by transforming sparkling liquid into swirling dancers for this award-winning spot from director Joseph Kahn and RKCR/Y&R. It features nearly 600 fluid simulation interactions, driven by motion capture and character animation, which were used to create liquid dancers. The character-driven fluid-sim approach was developed when the original plan (high-speed photography) wasn't practically able to address the director's vision of a single, seamless camera move that started off slow and continuously spun around the animated dancers while they multiplied from one animated character to four, ending in an exploding finale of liquid that forms a cocktail.
