Digital Domain Welcomes Pete Dionne as Visual Effects Supervisor

With 25 years of experience in the visual effects industry, Dionne is recognized for his technical excellence, creative leadership, and a strong record in building digital creatures and complex CG environments.
Dionne joins Digital Domain following a decade leading large-scale projects at premier studios, including Framestore, Method Studios, and MPC. He is celebrated for his creative partnership, technical rigor, and commitment to delivering exceptional final images across high-profile, technically demanding films.
Most recently, Dionne completed supervising Skydance Media's The Gorge (2025). Previously, he served as Visual Effects Supervisor on Thor: Love and Thunder, delivering the film's acclaimed black-and-white "Moon of Shame" sequence. He also spearheaded creature development and character integration for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, leading teams who brought Pikachu and dozens of CG Pokémon to life. Dionne's portfolio includes the fantasy worlds of A Wrinkle in Time, the intricate CG spacecraft in Passengers, and creature work in Goosebumps. In addition, on major projects such as The Gorge, Detective Pikachu, Passengers, and Goosebumps, he also served as 2nd Unit VFX Supervisor, providing extensive on-set supervision.
Dionne began his career in 2000 as a CG Generalist, building a deep technical foundation before advancing to CG and DFX Supervisor roles at Technicolor and MPC. His hands-on leadership on titles such as The Lone Ranger, Elysium, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 demonstrated his readiness for senior creative roles, culminating in his promotion to Visual Effects Supervisor in 2014.

Based in Vancouver, Dionne is known for his collaborative leadership style and dedication to high-quality results at every stage of production. His first project with Digital Domain will involve supervising visual effects for Warner Bros.'s upcoming feature film, collaborating closely with the production VFX Supervisor to continue delivering world-class visual effects for global clients.
