Provider of visual effects and immersive experiences adds Beijing studio, Frank Ming Wei as Greater China CEO, and three board members
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Digital Domain, one of the largest and most innovative providers of visual effects and immersive experiences, today announced further global expansion with a Beijing studio opening, three additional board members and the appointment of Frank Ming Wei as Executive Director, Vice Chairman and CEO of Greater China.The new board members include non-executive directors Pu Jian, executive director, vice president, and member of the Executive Committee of CITIC Limited, and Alan Song, Ph.D., managing partner of SoftBank China Ventures Capital. John Lagerling, former vice president of business development for mobile and product partnerships at Facebook and current executive director and chief business officer of Mercari, Inc., is appointed as an independent non-executive director.Wei comes to Digital Domain from Youku Tudou, Inc., one of China’s top online video and streaming platforms, where he was the president of Youku.com. He held various positions at the company since 2007, including senior vice president, vice president and assistant to the CEO. Previously, he worked as a sales director for Focus.cn, a leading real estate website in China.
With the opening of a Beijing location, Digital Domain’s global presence now operates in Los Angeles, Portland, New York City, Vancouver, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei.
