The Marvel Cinematic Universe officially introduced its version of the classic Marvel villain MODOK in Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. Reimagining the character as the new form of Corey Stoll's Darren Cross (aka Yellowjacket from Ant-Man), MODOK turns out to be a surprisingly vital character in the film -- initially introduced as a threat, his surprising growth throughout the film gets more ridiculous as the film embraces his bizarre nature -- something the visual artists on the film recognized and worked with throughout post-production.'

Far from their first work with Marvel Studios, MODOK still proved to be a unique challenge for Digital Domain. Ahead of the home release of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, CBR got the chance to sit down with Digital Domain's VFX supervisor Dave Hodgins to discuss the surprises of bringing MODOK to the big screen, the challenges of expanding Corey Stoll's performance into the digital creation, and the aspects of the character that proved tricky throughout post-production on the film.
