Digital Domain and Verve™ Team Up to Bring Virtual Reality Ads to Advanced Mobile Marketing Platform

BARCELONA, SpainFeb. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Verve™, the industry leader in location-powered mobile marketing, and Digital Domain, one of the largest and most innovative providers of visual effects and immersive experiences, today announced a first-of-its-kind strategic partnership that includes designating Digital Domain as the exclusive producer of virtual reality and 360° video content for the Verve mobile-marketing platform.

"Brands are constantly looking for new ways to break through the noise and reach their target audiences," said Amit Chopra, Executive Director and COO, Digital Domain. "Part of our company goal is to establish global alliances in new markets, and our partnership with Verve forges a powerful combination of technology and artistry — one that will enable brands to deliver engaging and contextually relevant ads to consumers."

According to the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), 96% of marketers believe that location is a key component of an effective mobile strategy.1  Location is critical to driving mobile-consumer engagement and Verve research shows that using location data can generate an in-store traffic lift of between 15% and 50%, depending on the campaign tactic and industry type. Additionally, a recent study by Nielsen Consumer Neuroscience and YuMe, Inc., shows that VR experiences elicit emotional engagement that is as much as 27% higher and 34% longer than traditional 2-D video.2 The Verve partnership with Digital Domain will enable advertisers to leverage the combined advantages of location-powered mobile and highly engaging VR ads to drive heightened consumer experiences.

"This initial partnership agreement provides Verve with an inventive new set of creative capabilities and, more importantly, it introduces exciting new opportunities for our clients to develop powerful and meaningful experiences for consumers," said Kevin Arrix, CRO, Verve. "Virtual reality is rapidly emerging as a transformative new advertising medium. We've long been familiar with the quality of Digital Domain's work in this area, and we are excited to partner with them in building the future of mobile advertising that VR represents."
