Visual Effects Supervisor

Pete Dionne is a Visual Effects Supervisor at Digital Domain, bringing 25 years of industry experience specializing in the execution of digital creatures and complex CG environments. Prior to joining Digital Domain, he spent a decade leading large-scale projects at other premier studios, including Framestore, MPC, and Method Studios, building a reputation for creative partnership, technical excellence, and a commitment to exceptional quality in the final image.

Pete’s most recently completed project is the supervision of The Gorge (2025). Previously, he was a VFX Supervisor on Thor: Love and Thunder, delivering the film’s creatively-lauded black and white 'Moon of Shame' sequence. On Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, he led the teams responsible for bringing Pikachu and dozens of other CG Pokémon characters to life. His portfolio also includes the fantasy worlds of A Wrinkle in Time, the complex CG spacecraft and outer-space environments in Passengers, and the creature work in Goosebumps. On key projects including The Gorge, Detective Pikachu, Passengers, and Goosebumps, his role expanded to include extensive on-set supervision, serving as the 2nd Unit VFX Supervisor on all four films.

Pete began his career in 2000 as a CG Generalist, building a deep pipeline foundation as he advanced to CG and DFX Supervisor roles at Technicolor and MPC. His hands-on leadership on films like The Lone Ranger, Elysium, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 proved his readiness to lead, paving the way for his elevation to Visual Effects Supervisor in 2014.

Born in British Columbia, Canada, Pete enjoys spending his time outside of work with his family and playing music with his friends.
