Overview

Creating fully animated planes that interact seamlessly with physical models was just part of Digital Domain’s task. All terrain seen from and around the aircraft was created using in-house developed software, while clouds and fire effects were created with proprietary Storm software. The behavior of debris around an imploding building – itself a miniature standing 25 feet tall – shows detailed volumetric algorithms at work.
